Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment_Johnsons Aggregates and RecyclingJohnsons Aggregates & Recycling are focused on the supply of quarried/recycled aggregates, site clearance, contract crushing, and disposal of contaminated materials.

As the Energy from Waste industry developed, they recognised the potential for Incinerator Bottom Ash (“IBA”) to be carefully blended with aggregate to provide a more sustainable, lower cost, and higher quality product.

They developed their own unique plant in 2007 and have operated this carefully ever since. The valuable knowledge and experience gained from the initial plant has been used, (alongside knowledge gained from around the World) to develop what is widely considered as the most advanced IBA recycling facility in Europe.

WHAT WAS THE ISSUE?

The business needed to consistently increase its labour workforce by 20% in a short period of time.

In summary, reliability and quality of staff were the main issues. Inconsistent staffing levels left work being incomplete and a strain on other members of staff, a remote location provided an added difficulty but was unavoidable due to the nature of the site.

Workload has rapidly increased for our site in a short amount of time, not having the correct amount of quality personnel would lead to us not reaching our full capacity. This would ultimately lead to a large backlog in our raw material, and a potential loss of revenue for the company.

HOW DID WE HELP SOLVE IT?

We met with the team to discuss the challenges involved, Discovery is a key stage in our Proven Process.

Together we proceeded with a very transparent brief to fill the jobs we can when we can – all the while maintaining clear and consistent levels of communication.
